Anthony 2.5" x 5" Laboratory Three Roll Mill
  • Stainless Steel Rolls
  • Water Cooling
  • Wood, Brass or Teflon Endplates
  • Herringbone Gear Drive
  • Varispeed DC Motor
  • Four Point Adjustment (with Shear Pins)
  • Proven Bench Top Design
  • Heavy Duty Construction
Features
  • Apron - The apron is constructed of stainless steel. Positive tension of the knife against the takeoff roll is maintained by an apron screw with spring. By turning the knurled nut counter clockwise, the tension on the apron is released and the apron can be removed for cleaning.

  • Blade - The apron blade (or knife) is thin (.015") and flexible. It can be removed without the use of tools. The standard knife is constructed of spring stainless steel with a single bevel.

  • End Plates - The end plates are adjustable to control the spread of material across the grinding surface of the rolls. They can be removed for cleaning. The end plates are constructed of hardwood, brass or teflon.

  • Gears - The machine is supplied with cast iron gears and steel pinions. This gear train has been designed for smooth and quiet operation. The gear train is immersed in lubricating oil.

  • Bearings - The mill has roller bearings fitted in roll boxes. These boxes are designed to prevent the entrance of foreign matter.

  • Motor & Drive - The standard motor supplied with the mill is a 1/2 HP single phase DC varispeed motor. Options include brake motors, explosion proof motors, etc. A splined herringbone pinion mounted on the motor shaft drives a herringbone gear on the apron roll.

  • Rolls - The rolls are 2.5" diameter by 5" long on the grinding surface. The inside of the roll is machined concentric to the roll surface to insure uniform cooling and material transfer. Standard rolls are constructed of hardened stainless steel.

  • Roll Speeds - The apron roll is driven at 428 rpm, the center roll at 214 rpm and the feed roll at 107 rpm.

  • Cooling - All three rolls are water cooled with a valve to control the flow of water. A cast water manifold and water box is built into the shoulder of the mill.

  • Adjustment - The mill has four point handwheel adjustment (two handwheels for the feed roll and two for the apron roll). Each handwheel has a locknut for locking the handwheels in place. The mill can also be equipped with electrohydraulic roll set. In this case the mill is mounted on a floor standing base.

  • Safety Feature - The feed roll handwheels are fitted with safety shear pins. These pins will shear if any foreign object passes through the rolls. This prevents damage to the rolls or other component parts of the mill.

  • Base Plate - The mill is mounted on a cast machined base plate which is 21" X 11 1/4". The mill requires bench space of approximately 30" X 18", for proper use.

  • Specifications
    • Bench Space - 12" X 26"
    • Height to top of Rolls - 6"
    • Net Weight - 180 lbs.
