Apron Knives
|
- Keith Machinery manufactures apron knives of all types. These are sold as precut knives, or as coils. Our quality is excellent, our pricing is competitive, and we can normally ship on a next day basis. We can also supply stainless steel knives.
Keith Machinery believes that the apron knife is the first "wear part" on a mill. Since the apron pressure should be adjusted to the minimum pressure consistent with removing the entire product from the apron roll, and since a worn knife requires much more pressure to accomplish this, we believe that the knife should be replaced on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, many of our customers find that replacing apron knives at least once each day optimized production.
Keith Machinery also has an Apron Remanufacture Program and an Apron Switch Program for Kent, Day, Lehmann and Ross Mills. During the remanufacturing process, the apron is modified to accept our recommended apron knife (0.015" thick, single bevel and length dependent on mill size).
Finally, we would like to expand our customer base. Because of this desire, we are offering a free trial of our knives on your mill. Just call or fax and ask for Dave Hilbert. Tell Dave your trial mill and he will send you six (6) free knives. (This offer applies to three roll mill operators who do not now purchase our knives.)
