REMANUFACTURE PROGRAM FOR THREE ROLL MILLS

Keith Machinery (KMC) remanufactures all makes and sizes of Three Roll Mills (TRMs).  With this program, the mill is shipped into the KMC shop for work & a remanufacture normally requires approximately 12 to 18weeks at the KMC shop.  The specifics of the remanufacture are listed below.

1) The TRM is moved into the TRM shop & it is disassembled to parts.  All parts are then inspected so that we can prepare a specific quotation.                         This quotation will outline the work that we intend to do, the parts (if any) that are required, & our estimate as to the charges involved.  This is part          of our standard charge.

2) All castings go into our heated & agitated cleaning tank, & once these are down to bare metal, these are then primed and painted.  This is part of               our standard charge.

3) The roll interiors are inspected to check for scaling, the interior water pipe indent is drilled out to ensure proper fit, & the roll interiors are                           chemically cleaned.  This is part of our standard charge.

4) The bearing journals are inspected, and the diameters are measured. If the diameter is undersize, the journal is machined, and a journal sleeve                    is installed to bring the journal back to the correct diameter for bearing fit. If required, this sleeve procedure is at additional charge.

5) The rolls are ground on our roll grinders.  Our customers normally leave the crown specifications to our expertise.  On the other hand, we can,                     of course, crown to customer's specifications.  This is part of our standard charge.

6) The roll bevels/undercuts are machined to ensure that all rolls match. This is part of our standard charge.

7) The gears are topped off and recut as required to conform to the new roll centers.  This is part of our standard charge.  If new gears are required,               these are manufactured to suit, and this is at additional charge.

8) New endplates are supplied. This is part of our standard charge.

9) Six new bearings are supplied.  This is part of our standard charge.

10) New bearing box seals are supplied.  If the bearing box covers have the old style felt seals, they are machined to accept the standard seals.  This is             at additional charge.

11) The existing motor is scrapped, and a new inverter duty motor is supplied. This is part of our standard charge.

12) Other mill assemblies are remanufactured and reassembled as appropriate.  This is part of our standard charge.  If a part is not repairable, and                  a new part is required, the cost of this new part is at additional charge.

13) The remanufacture includes a fully ANSI 2017 compliant electrical package with color touch screen HMI. This electrical package is part of our                       standard charge.

14) The mill is then reassembled and tested with ink.  Once testing has been completed, the mill is then given a final paint job, and then it is prepared                for shipment via flatbed truck.  Crating, if required, is at additional charge.

15) During the remanufacture, the mill can be upgraded with any number of standard KMC. These upgrades are at additional charge.
