Also includes:
Thomas Tablet Sentinel 4 (TTS4)

For accurate process control and complete batch documentation, the Thomas Tablet Sentinel 4 (TTS4) represents the latest generation in on-line compression monitoring systems. With compression data presented in an easy to use format, the TTS4 is equipped with state of the art design features and can be incorporated into a fully automated tabletting system. The TTS4 is specifically designed to monitor Thomas Diamond Range of tablet presses, including the Unipress, Novapress, Rotapress 5, and Elite Series.

Specifications:
Configuration: The TTS4 comprises a Communications Module (rack type enclosure) and a Force Module.

Tablet Reject: Typically 3 to 7 tablets per reject event at high speed (mechanical gate). Single tablet per reject event at low speed (air gate).

Features:
Processing of pre and main compression force signals
Control of weight adjustment ramp
Single point control
Real time display of force data
Statistical treatment of force data
Control of reject gate
Monitoring of overload level
Recipe editing
Real time adjustments
File control functions
Batch documentation

Benefits:
Operator can monitor pre and main compression forces in real time. The weight control loop can be controlled from precompression force measurements when tabletting at low forces or operating in a bilayer mode.

The actual position of the weight adjustment ramp is controlled by the force module. A stepper motor adjusts the weight ramp based upon deviation from set point.

Single point control algorithm (PID) provides excellent force control.

The operator can monitor the compression force averages or the full set of individual compression events.

The operator is constantly informed of the standard deviation and coefficient of variation of the forces distributed. Real time presentation of force histograms are standard.

Tablets are accepted only when forces are within acceptable limits, therefore improving production quality and yields during start up.

The press stops before overload conditions are reached, thus avoiding overweight tablets that may be produced in overload mode.

Directly incorporated in the production program and reached by a single keystroke. Permits easy editing from a single recipe screen.

Without shutting down the press and restarting the program, the operator is able to modify most of the Sentinel's functions, such as reject parameters, Depth of Fill gain, etc.

Available from a single screen and handled through a batch process, allowing the operator to PRINT/COPY/DELETE multiple files during a production run.

Process parameters and alarm events are recorded permitting troubleshooting and regulatory compliance.
